Biography

Drew Steffen oversees commercial real estate endeavors for McNair Interests.

Mr. Steffen was previously the Managing Director and head of Dallas-Fort Worth Commercial Real Estate at Hines. During his decade-long tenure with Hines, Mr. Steffen had the opportunity to work on dozens of high-profile projects throughout the southwest US and Mexico, including high-rise Class AA office, luxury multifamily, retail, hospitality, mixed-use urban and suburban, industrial and self-storage.

Prior to joining Hines, Mr. Steffen was an architect with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New Haven, Connecticut, where he worked on large-scale mixed-use developments in Las Vegas, Singapore and Milan, Italy.  Mr. Steffen’s early career experience included work in the real estate group at Target Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota; as an architect in Istanbul, Turkey; as a project manager for a Midwest design/build firm; and as a sole proprietor of a marketing, design, and 3D visualization business catering to building sustainability.

Mr. Steffen is a Registered Architect in Texas, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He serves on the Board of Directors for the NAIOP Houston Chapter, and the Board of Directors of Every Village. Mr. Steffen is a former Board Member of both The Real Estate Council in Dallas and Downtown Dallas, Inc., a former board member on Scenic Houston’s Executive Committee, and a founding board member of the Classical School of Dallas.

Mr. Steffen earned both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Architecture from Yale University after graduating with salutatorian honors within his discipline from Iowa State University.
